Registration at The MLC, SoundExchange and your US PRO

RegKeeper

See where every song in your catalog stands at the three organizations that pay US streaming royalties, and prepare the data to register what's missing. You do the registering; RegKeeper gets everything ready to copy and paste.

Why it matters if you don't live in the US

The MLC pays US streaming mechanicals, and SoundExchange pays digital radio (Pandora, SiriusXM), to writers and artists from any country. Whatever isn't registered sits as unmatched royalties. A US PRO (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR) only applies if you're a member of one; if you're only with SAYCO or another home society, RegKeeper leaves it out.

Where your catalog is kept

In this browser

By default your catalog is kept only in this browser. Free Music Tools never sees or stores it. If you clear your browser data it's gone, so download your catalog (catalog.json) now and then.

In the cloud, with a private link

Your catalog is saved on Free Music Tools and you open it from any device with your private link. Anyone with the link can see and edit the catalog: keep it like a password.

Your two files: rights-profile.json (who you are) and catalog.json (your songs and their status). You can load both at once; each goes to its place.

Your details

Used in every registration. Fill them in once.
Fill these in from your profile file, or save them to one for next time.
You as a songwriter

How the societies identify you. Use your full legal name, not your artist name.

Your publisher

If you have your own publishing company: its name and its IPI, which is different from yours.

The master

Who owns the recordings and which label they come out on.

SoundExchange

To collect US digital radio. You get the ID when you register.

Import your catalog

Paste your Spotify artist profile link (up to 3, one per line). We bring in every song with its ISRC. Importing again updates without duplicating or erasing what you've marked.
